In my last blog, I said it was time to get moving, but how does one do that?
For me, the dread of falling short upsets and annoys me, but doesn’t get me moving.
I have to think about and confront what I want to achieve by the end of the year and how I want it to turn out. Just doing that gets me focused in the right direction, but not motivated and moving. It’s not until I come to grips with the stark yet heartening and uplifting reality that it IS up to me to make it happen, that I jump into action.
When I say to myself, “I do want this and I can do this,” I feel reassured and optimistic. My thought process is very different and I find myself eager to go to work. That’s when I become on fire and motivated.
It's all about getting motivated to do something NOW about how the year is going to end.
ISN'T IT SO MUCH EASIER TO JUST KEEP GOING WITH THE WAY IT IS?
So I repeat, are you going to get moving or are you going to just sit there?
George Bernard Shaw says, “The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they can't find them, make them.”
To achieve great things in life, I have found I have to go beyond, reach out where I haven’t been and where it may not be familiar or comfortable. That’s where success lies. And nobody is asking me to go there. I have to do it myself.
